On May 18, 2026, at a meeting properly posted and with a majority present, the Town of Winchester Board of Supervisors conducted interviews with qualified candidates for Fire Chief. After which, a discussion was held and the Town Board of Supervisors formally appointed Tim Kempen to the position of Town of Winchester Volunteer Fire Department Fire Chief.

The Town of Winchester Fire Department began fire protection services to the town on January 3, 2017.
