The Funeral service planned for Fire Chief Glen Mathison is Friday, April 17, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Winchester. Immediately following the service, a Funeral Procession will follow a route from the Church, south to Grandview, east to Hickory, north to CTR II, west to Steeple Hill and south back to the church. 

A large number of Fire Trucks and Emergency Vehicles are expected to participate. As such, procession staging of will be along West Ann, John, Henry, and Lee Streets. 

Because Friday is our regular garbage and recycling collection day for residents on these roads, the Town has requested that GFL get the collections in the staging area and along the route completed in the early morning so that residents can pull their bins back from the roadside, clearing the way for staging and the procession. 

If you live on one of these roads, and if you are able, please have your bins pulled back from the roadway. Or if you are able to hold your trash and recycling until next week’s collections, that will help expedite collections along the procession route.
